Director of Youth and Family Ministries
Ariel grew up and was confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Salem, Oregon. As a youth she was not only a leader within her own youth group, but also within the Synod. She served as the Oregon Lutheran Youth Board Representative to the Synod Council for two years, acting as a full voting member of both OLY and the Synod Council. Following her high school graduation she volunteered at her home church as the Middle School Youth Leader. She left that position and began another volunteer youth leading position at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, also in Salem, OR. She left Good Shepherd to complete her college education at Newberry College in Newberry, SC where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was named the Business Administration Student of the Year for the graduating class of 2004. At Newberry she was actively involved in the Lutheran Student Movement on campus. Prior to coming to Emanuel’s she served as the Associate for Youth at St. James Episcopal Church in Texarkana, TX. She is thrilled to be returning to her Lutheran roots!
Ariel met her husband Roger while attending Newberry College and his career as a Soccer Coach has led them all around the South. They have lived in Lexington, VA; Jonesboro, AR; Charlotte, NC; Texarkana, Texas, and currently live in Seguin with their children, Patrick and Isabelle.
